This Is How You Made Me Believe In Love Again

The energy in the room was intoxicating. The floor was shaking, the lights were flashing and everyone was singing along.

For months I have been obsessed with this band, their songs speak to me in a way that most music doesn’t. Their lyrics are heartfelt and beautiful. And when we decided to go to the concert together I was so excited. But I was also scared I would get too excited and it wouldn’t meet my expectations.

We arrived at the concert and I was so tired I could barely keep my eyes open. And then they came on. And it exceeded all my expectations. This was the last show on their tour but the amount of enthusiasm they brought to the show would have made you think it was their first show.

They meant every word they sang. And you stood beside me and I can’t even put in two words how happy I was. I was there listening to my favorite band, with my favorite person after an amazing weekend. We sang along at the top of our lungs to every song. Everyone in the audience was signing, we were all connected to the concert in this amazing way. We all were a part of it. I couldn’t think of anything better.

And then they started singing one of my favorite songs. It’s about how even when times are hard I’ll always be there for you.

This song has been one of my favorites since I feel like the lyrics speak to our relationship. No matter how many times I fall apart I always know that you are there. You are by my side through it all.

As they played the opening the chord I already knew what song was coming. I was so excited that they were going to play it. And then you came up behind me and wrapped your arms around me, and I just about melted into you. Everything about the moment was perfect. Nothing else mattered, time stopped in that moment. And with your arms wrapped around me, both of us singing I knew that this would be something I would remember forever.

It was like a scene from a movie, I swear I thought my heart was going to burst from happiness. You make me feel like happiness is possible. You make me see a future where I can be happy. I never imagined I would have those movie moments. And yet with you every moment is a special one to me, because they are with you.

I have finally completely opened up my heart to you, and while that is terrifying I have no regrets. Because I know without a doubt that no matter what happens loving you is one of the best things that has ever happened to me.

You make me believe in love again.
