You Are My Serendipity

Hope can be one of the most important things to have in this life, and yet, it can also be one of the hardest things to come by. This is especially true when it comes to love and romance. You have given proof that there lies a small truth behind every cliche. I never saw you coming. You are truly too good to be true. You are my serendipity.

You are the extra fries at the bottom of the bag. You are the cloud that shades me from the too-bright sun. You are the song that ends just as I’m pulling into the driveway. You are my best friend, my confidant, my muse, my love. You are my good luck charm, especially on the days when I am convinced that my luck has run out. You are simultaneously my shield and the one who pushes me to confront my fears.

You showed up in my life during a time when I thought I had met everyone important that there was to meet. You have shown me that life is full of wonderful surprises. You proved to me that I am still capable of love after so many years of convincing myself I was doing something wrong. Even more so, you proved to me that I am still worthy of love even in the moments when I am at my ugliest.

You are, quite literally, one of the greatest gifts of my world. You make me shine a little brighter and laugh a lot louder. You make me feel less alone for the weird and messed up things that pass through my mind every now and then. You show me that love is and always will be a choice more than it is a feeling, and you show me that this is something worth choosing every single day.

You are the keeper of my secrets, the star of my greatest memories, and one of the focal points of my vision for the future. I feel like I can do anything when I have you standing next to me. You are someone worth following and you are also someone that makes me believe in my ability to lead. You are so many things in one that I didn’t think it was possible to possess so many contradictory qualities. You are hilarious and yet I take you more seriously than anyone else. You show tough love when I need it most and are gentle when I need it even more. You are everything good that this world has to offer, and I often wonder how the hell I got so lucky as to find you when I did. Something had to have aligned. Magic had to have played a hand in bringing you to me.

You are one of the most important things that I have in this life, and you were one of the seemingly easiest things I have come by. You have shown me that what is most special can also be something so simple. You make it so easy for me to love you. You are my serendipity.
