6 Reasons To Date A Hopeless Romantic

By

1. They will always make you feel loved.

Hopeless romantics will do anything to make you feel like your love story is just like the movies or a Taylor Swift fantasy. Chocolates and candlelit dinners, galore!

2. They won’t expect anything in return for their romantic deeds (except for maybe your love obvi).

They’re pretty selfless people who get off on making you happy and feel like royalty. Though they’re not oblivious. If you go through a long period of time without acknowledging gratitude or returning the love, they will move on. Don’t take their attempts at being romantic for granted!

3. They are confident.

Contrary to popular belief, hopeless romantics and desperate lovers aren’t necessarily synonymous. Hopeless romantics are confident and know what they want. Desperate lovers just want attention from anyone. Once hopeless romantics see someone worth it, they will go over leaps and bounds to demonstrate how much they like someone. You’ll know they aren’t into you if they don’t. There is hardly a middle ground.

4. They will always know how to cheer you up.

Some may think that hopeless romantics try way too hard to win someone over, but I think we all just say that because we’re secretly jealous of those that have actually experienced that level of affection. Having a bad day? After buying your favorite hot chocolate, you’ll be taken to your favorite spot in the city to unwind. Stressful day at work on Wednesday? Expect surprise flowers when you get home and think, “OMG, this is exactly what I needed right now! How did you know I was having such a horrible day??”

5. They remember the things you like.

Remember that one night a few months ago when you subtly brought up a musical you really wanted to see? Well, hopeless romantics remember this and surprise you with tickets to the show. They’ll never forget that you hate wool, and that you don’t like the crust on your pizza and bread. They’ll embrace your quirks and nuances and work with it.

6. They like spontaneity.

Expect the hopeless romantic to take you on a midnight trip to the pier and watch the city skyline. Expect your hand to be held and to be told about why you were brought there, and be pleasantly surprised when you hear, “because I felt like taking you to our favorite spot together.” For hopeless romantics, the best ideas are often unplanned.
