Maybe They Were Never Meant To Be In Your Life Forever

Every so often you meet someone that takes your breath away and makes you view the world differently. Sometimes you meet these incredible human beings that you think are meant to be in your life forever, but they’re not. The harsh reality is that no matter how much you love someone, sometimes they aren’t meant to be a part of your story.

Sometimes we try to force things to work out because we get caught up in the idea of “meant to be.” We think that God doesn’t make mistakes and that every person that is put in our life is meant to stay, but sometimes I think God does make mistakes. Sometimes he lets us get too attached to people and then tears them away. His plan wasn’t for us to get attached, but we thought we were meant to. So we let these people get to know the deepest, darkest parts of ourselves, only to find out that they weren’t meant to be our forever people.

We may never know why these people weren’t meant to stay in our lives, but we do know that it broke our hearts. We know that we will always have the question, “What if?”

Just know that it’s okay to miss them. You thought they were supposed to be a part of your life for years to come. You had all these visions for the future; you thought you had all the time in the world. It’s okay to take time to come to terms with the fact that they’re gone. Sometimes you can’t explain what you feel for a person, and no one will understand why you loved someone the way you did but you.

Thank these people for your little infinity. Thank them for all that they taught you about life and everything else they gave you in such a short amount of time, but then admit that it’s time to move on. You’ll always have the time you shared together, but not everyone is meant to be your forever person. God has other plans for you, and I promise the right ones will come along and stay. Every “mistake” he makes is leading you one step closer to your forever people.
