I grew up with a lot of Italians. My best friend was a fourth-generation Italian — her great-grandparents moved to Brooklyn from Sicily. Whenever I’d go over to her house, her mother would be in the kitchen cooking up something delicious, her older brother was usually out and her younger brother, watching TV. It was always great to see them and this reminded me of her and her family.
