What It Means To Love Someone Who Is Taken

When you love someone who you can’t have, you may try to bury your feelings deep inside so you don’t have to deal with the hurt that the reality of the situation has caused you.

Unfortunately, being in love doesn’t always include a happily ever after and sometimes when you are in love its not always with the right person. It’s easier to be with someone you can’t love than to admit you love someone you can’t have.

Love is a funny thing. It can be one of the greatest feelings and at the same time, it can be one of the most painful experiences of your life. They don’t tell you that love can be heartbreaking but it truly can be.

I watched you fall in love with her and you forgot me so easily that it broke my heart. It’s mainly how love goes, you love them, they love someone else and sometimes even the person they love doesn’t love them back but for some reason, you are still invisible to them.

I need someone who wants to be there when it’s messy and when it’s hard, not just when it’s fun and when it’s convenient. And I need someone who chooses me when it might not be the easiest choice. And I need someone who would rather do nothing with me than anything in the world with someone else.

No, you didn’t break me I was already broken. You just added to my pain. You can’t break someone who is already broken. But what you can do is make the pain they already feel more painful.

Is it weird that even though you broke me I am still grateful for the painful memories for the constant heartbreak because it taught me what not to look for in a relationship and what not to settle for.

Because even though you didn’t choose me I chose me and even though you didn’t see me someone else will. They’ll love me the way I deserved to be loved in the first place.
