To The Co-Workers Who Have Nothing Nice To Say, Please Shut Up

By

I have a co-worker who literally says everything that comes to her mind. E-ver-y-thing.

If she doesn’t like the way your pants fit your body, you shall know. If she doesn’t think your makeup looks good you will know that too. Oh and don’t get me started on her opinions on my hair, that would be a day long post and with so much greatness posted on TC by the minute, ain’t nobody got time for that!

So to my co-worker, and to all of the I’m-going-to-share-what’s-on-my-mind-because-I-like-to-hear-myself-speak-ers, and I mean what I’m about to say in the nicest possible way, but can you please just SHUT UP ALREADY!

I was raised to be pretty thick-skinned and these kind of comments usually don’t  have any effect on my feelings, but even I have times when that one “I know it’s rude but I shall share anyway” comment can just ruin the my whole darn day. Now I’m not saying it’s bad to be truthful or honest, I try to be that way with all my friends. But you are my co-worker, not my friend, and there’s a big difference.

So please before you speak just try to imagine what kind of damage you’re doing to your co-worker who is maybe just holding onto that last piece of confidence that you are (clearly) determined to destroy. Must you make others feel crappy just because that’s how you’re feeling? And so, I’m standing up today for all those who aren’t thick-skinned enough to speak up for themselves, and all of us who have just hit our fill level of negativity, and am here to tell you that we have had enough of your “thoughts.”

Notice the “” included around that word thoughts??? It’s there because you’re not really relevant! We don’t really care what you think, or what you have to say, and no we don’t want your opinion. So please just go sit down somewhere!

Better yet, why don’t you take a nice long look in the mirror and address whatever it is you have going on in your life that makes you feel the need to spread so much negativity. Once you’ve done that, then maybe just maybe, you can come back to the grown-ups table and we can have a nice, pleasant  conversation with you.

But until then, if you have nothing nice to say, try not saying anything at all. Even though that was clearly a lesson you missed in the school of life.

Sincerely,

Management of the We Have Had Enough of You and Your Negative Self Society
