Washington Redskins: The 77-Year-Old Team That’s Been Racist For The Past Two

Oh, lefties and Big D’s sure do love their little controversies. Though the “controversy” started months ago, a big legal blow was just dealt by an over zealous government agency to remove trademarking for the team name “Washington Redskins”. Never understand the lefties and Big Ds love for a good controversy. It used to be taking advantage of tragedies, but how many of those happen often enough to be a distraction? We’ve had Harry Reid barking about Koch bros. and the Washington Redskins, leaving many to question if he’s had a bit too much of the other kind of Koch. For those paying attention, one might ask, what is the job we and more specifically the people of Nevada are paying him for exactly? For Harry to be bellowing and patent offices to be besmirching, how racist is this team?

It’s so racist that it took 77 years for anyone to notice.

It’s so racist, American Indian chiefs named Stephen Dodson loves the name and says he feels it is a tribute to his people.

It happens to be so horrendously, blatantly racist that Jim Thorpe, an American Indian, played for the team. In fact they’re so shockingly racist, that their name stemmed from a once very popular “possibly” American Indian coach William Henry “Lone Star” Dietz. It’s so dastardly that it honored a group of Navajo code talkers that didn’t seem particularly offended by wearing team SWAG.

Haven’t heard any of this from the mainstream news?

The facts are hard to see when we allow ourselves to be blinded by emotion. Not to mention that we forget the ‘ripple effect’. What about the Atlanta Braves, Kansas City Chiefs, Cleveland Indians, and the Seminoles. That’s just some of the major ones. According to Wikipedia, high schools have the names: Arrows, Apaches, Aztecs, Cherokees, Chickasaws, Chieftans, Choctaws, Comanches, Mohawks, Mohicans, Reds, Redmen, et cetera, et cetera. I wonder how much the colleges, professional, and high schools will have to pay for such a change? My guess is that the NFL might not suffer quite as much, but what about the colleges? High schools? Oh wait, that’s right, there’s rivers, towns, and other locations named after American Indians. Those of which include, but are not limited to: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana,Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Wisconsin, Wyoming. That’s just the states. I don’t have the space to name the counties, rivers, and towns.

Now, I am sure you’re saying this all sounds ridiculous. I say the whole topic is ridiculous. Here’s how we do things in America, people in a quasi-free market say we don’t support this anymore. The market value or profits take a hit. The company either ignores it or changes it. Potentially, they go out of business or not.

For some reason in a country where we have the freedom to whine and protest over everything, we far too often do it for nothing. When the government over taxes, over regulates, expands government to the point of busting it’s constitutional belt, we hear crickets. Those crickets are those of us that give a crap about serious matters. It’d be comically ironic, if it weren’t so pathetic and sad, that the majority of the people shouting are from certain political parties that were responsible for the Trail of Tears, yet they wag their judgmental finger at the rest of us. Not to tilt one way or another, both parties suck, but at least two Republicans were on the side of the Indians. In any case, I digress.

So, there you have it. No racial background. It wasn’t to make light of the trail of tears or wounded knee. It was in honor of a famous coach, who may or may not have been Indian. Who honestly cares? Even so, it’s not my team or your team. The free market has left it alone for 70+ years. It’s the same as every other nonsensical irritant they manifest in the leftist twilight zone.

Lefty rag aka “newspaper”: News at 9, outrage in the (blank) community. Is this racist and should we ban it? A poll of 1,000 people, roughly the population of a municipal borough with a 3%+ margin of error, have concluded this racist, racism hating, haters need to be stopped.
Lefty congressman: this injustice should not stand! The Koch brothers, Fox News, Tea Party extremists, and “anarchists” need to stopped! It’s appalling and bigoted!

So, here’s a thought, pay attention to the government. Do some research. Try not to follow the lefty ‘Outrage Of The Week’. Then again, you could just ENTER ANOTHER DIMENSION, A DIMENSION OF THE TIMES AND RACE. WE CALL THIS PLACE THE “LEFTIST” TWILIGHT ZONE…
