This Is What Life Looks Like Through The Eyes Of An Artist

Everyone seems to be curious about the lifestyle of an artist. What exactly is an artist? Were they all born with the talent or was it something they acquired along the way? I don’t know if it’s a blessing or a curse to be labeled as one, but here’s a glimpse of what it’s like to be for some.

For an artist, the word ‘reality’ is subjective, since they tend to spend more time in their imaginary world to be able to produce a work of art. Sometimes they can’t even see the line between the two. Through the eyes of an artist, there’s nothing but a never-ending desire to connect with shapes, hues, music, or texture. An artist’s life is all about feeling all sorts of emotions and raising their vibrations.

Some say that making any form of art is like listening to the wishes of your soul—most artists could testify that this is true. You can delay the process; you can play deaf and ignore your calling for quite some time. You can suppress your emotions for months or years, but at some point, creativity will find its way out of your physical body. And it could happen at the least expected moment. Once you have unleashed your talent, once creativity starts to flow, there’s no turning back. There’s pretty much nothing you can do but to grant the wishes of your soul. The need to create is your ultimate goal in life. It doesn’t matter how good or bad the output is, and it doesn’t matter what time of day it is, once your soul commands you to create, you have no choice but to obey.

The process of creating artwork is somewhere between anesthesia and torture. You can only create your best pieces out of intense but hidden emotions. And no matter how good you get and despite the compliments that you hear from others, you know deep down inside that there’s still something to work on. You know that there’s still something to hone and improve in your work, like it’s never finished. You can try to take a break and live a ‘normal’ life to suppress that nagging feeling, that magnet that’s pulling you back to ‘creating mode’, but it never lasts. Living a ‘normal’ life will never be an option because you we’re different right from the start. Even if you spend hours closing your eyes, imagining the routines that a normal person must do, it’s never going to work. You can’t fool yourself into those routines. You will find or make a way to break that monotonous cycle so you can step back into your own world where you can be your truest self without judgment from others. TC mark
