Thank You For Being My Person

Thank you for answering my panicked texts in the middle of the night, and for calling me back just so I can tell you the exact same story for the fourteenth time in a row. And thank you for analyzing the details of that same story fourteen times without murdering me.

Thank you for trusting me with your craziest stories, and for sending me your ugliest snapchats. Thank you for accepting my weirdness when anyone else would just think I was crazy. You let me be goofy and silly, and you even sit through all of my bad puns and dumb jokes. Thank you for laughing with me.

And thank you for laughing at me. You help me to remember that life doesn’t need to be taken so seriously all of the time.

Thank you for crying big ugly tears with me when my pet died, and for asking me how I was doing each day after. Thank you for being there for me through each breakup and heartbreak, and for writing me sweet cards and cheery emails to make sure I was okay.

Thank you for believing in me; for never giving up on me, even on the days that I wanted to give up on myself. Thank you for encouraging me to keep going, to keep trying. I am incredibly grateful for your support.

Thank you for sitting with me in silence when I am upset. For knowing that sometimes words don’t fix anything. Thank you for being there, for being present, and for giving me the hope I need to know that one day everything will be okay. I always know that I am not alone.

Thank you for turning off the lights and binge watching Pretty Little Liars with me, and for screaming whenever anything jumped out (scary or not scary). Thank you for letting me talk during tv shows, and for not getting too mad at me for pausing the show again and again to ask questions or tell random stories.

Thank you for being my crutch when I feel stuck or uncertain about which road to take. Thank you for gently telling me when it is time to move on, and when it is time for me to stop looking back. Thank you for telling me when I deserve better, and for helping me to have higher standards, with life, with love, and with how people treat me. Thank you for challenging me to always be better, and for encouraging me to always be honest with myself, especially when facing hard situations.

Thank you for knowing when I need you, even if I don’t always tell you. Thank you for checking in, and making sure I’m okay, even when I’m smiling and faking feeling fine. Thank you for asking questions, and for always wanting to know more.

Thank you for having my back through the best of times and the worst of times, and for not disappearing during the hard times. Thank you for being there for me in times of sorrow and grief, and for being my biggest cheerleader in times of joy and celebration. Thank you for being my rock during the hardest times, and for being stable when everything else around me feels chaotic.

Thank you for loving me despite my mood swings and my crazy anxiety, and for being my rock when my world keeps changing. Thank you for being exactly who you are, and for letting me be exactly who I am.

Thank you for making this world feel more like a home to me. For always being there to comfort me, and to laugh together. You truly are a gift in my life. Your compassion, your love, and your support surround me every single day, even when we are not together.

And most of all, thank you for being you.

Thank you for being such a beautiful person, both inside and out, and for making the world a brighter place, just by being in it.

Thank you for making my world a better place.

Thank you for being my person. TC mark

Cut yourself some slack. One of the biggest regrets most people have about their 20s is that they didn’t enjoy them more. And I’m not talking about “buy more expensive dinners, take another trip to Thailand” type of enjoyment. I mean having the ability to take a deep breath and sip coffee in the morning knowing that you have done, and are doing, your best.

“These essays are slowly changing my life, as the title promises. As my friends’ birthday come along, they will all be receiving a copy of this wonderful book.” – Janie

Hi! Here’s Some Amazing Poetry For You

“I hope your learn how to love yourself the way you love others — unconditionally and without hesitation; deeply, and from the softest parts of who you are. Because isn’t it a shame, that we are so quick to forgive the humanness in someone else’s soul, but we often forget to forgive ourselves. Isn’t it a shame, that we fight for others, we believe in them with such intensity, and such hope, but we often forget to fight for ourselves.” — Bianca Sparacino ✨

“Seeds Planted in Concrete is a very empowering read. It reminds you that you should love yourself first before anyone else.” — Alyssa
