Imgur user Seeger33 is a small business owner who works seven days a week. Naturally, this makes taking care of four kids full-time very difficult. It might be a little bit easier for him if his ex-wife were pulling her weight with the children, but as will soon be apparent, she is obviously not.
His ex-wife has certain days where she is supposed to take the underage kids (one of the four is currently in college). However, every single time she has an excuse and clearly demonstrates that she could care less about them.
Here’s the proof:
Seeger33 goes on to explain how this has been going on with the eldest daughters for ages, and the neglect is starting with the younger boys as well:
Ex wife has new husband and two new babies. We had 4 children together and our children are not a priority for her.
The boys are heading down the same path of being ignored. It’s gotten progressively worse for them. They are 9 & 13 and need to know they are loved. I probably do too much with them to make up for what they lack from their mom. The last month has been the same story week after week, when I ask about her picking the boys up on her days she doesn’t take them. Always with her signature ending to asking me to keep them… ‘that would be great’
Parenting involves sacrifice and prioritization. If you don’t keep your commitments to your children, what will they think? They might start to question whether you actually love them at all.
At least these kids have an AMAZING dad.
I run my own business seven days a week, but sacrifice any personal time to be there for my children. Basically, I have no social life and haven’t been out in years. However, that’s what your supposed to do for you kids. When my kids are all in HS I should be able to work on myself and start thinking about dating again. Until then it’s just me and doggo.
His post has gone viral, with hundreds of commenters offering their love and support. One user urged him to sue for sole custody and child support: “Looks like you got custody! Go to a lawyer and make it official.”
Seeger33 later edited his post to thank everyone for their support:
“I know this isn’t funny or gross or even entertaining, but sometimes I need to get out whats bothering me inside. I deeply appreciate all the positive comments, they are sorely needed. I am not going to ask for nudes, just simply that when you see your family hug them and let them know they are loved.
Honestly, the support here is remarkable. Knowing I’m not alone on this journey means so much at just the right time.”
We are definitely 100% behind you man! Keep on keeping on!
