You Don’t Have To Like My Blog

By

Or me for that matter.

You don’t have to like what I write about, or how I write it. You don’t have to agree with my story, or why I tell it.

My goal was never to have the most popular blog. That was never the intention of starting it. The goal was to tell my story; the goal was for me to have a place to be myself and not care if it was what everyone wanted from me or what was expected of me.

The goal was simple, to tell my story and hope that maybe, just maybe one day someone would come across it and relate to it. That when they related to my suicide attempt when they related to my depression and loneliness, that then they would know they aren’t alone.

My stories aren’t meant to go viral or to be popular. If they do, or if they are, then that just increases the chance that someone who needs my blog will come across it.

I don’t worry if someone likes my blog and comes back to read it a few times every month, I am more focused on the email I get that is someone who reads my blog every single day and tells me that my blog helped them feel like they were not alone.

So no, I do not care if you like my blog. I definitely do not care if my blog makes you uncomfortable or makes you feel “sad,” because if it does, then this blog wasn’t meant for you.

This blog wasn’t mean to make you feel like the world was sunshine and rainbows, and I am not here to tell you that it is. It isn’t. This world is cruel and will break you apart and keep you down if you let it. This world does not care if you are the most empathetic and caring person in the world, or if you have broken hearts and made people feel worthless.

The hard truth is that life is going to have a lot of bad days, a lot of days that make you question your every breath. And I will not try to tell you otherwise.
I will tell you this…if you are not trying to make the world a better place, if you are not trying to help or comfort or support others, then you are the problem. You are no better than the worst of humankind.

Much like this is my blog, this is your life, and you have the choice every single day to approach your life in a way that would help impact the world in ways that are beyond needed.

If you are not helping make this world better, you are no better than those making it worse.

Make positivity louder. Smile bigger. Laugh Louder. Care more.
