From One College Dropout To Another: You Are Not Missing Out

By

It’s that time of year again. You know exactly what I am talking about. School is about to start. More than likely, there is SOMEONE in your life (social media counts) that is about to go on that path or continue on that path. There is that talk about textbooks; whining about classes that haven’t even begun. They’re already chugging down healthy cups of stress. Colleges are about to burst at the seams with students.

And you aren’t one of them. You know what?

It is perfectly okay to be a college dropout. It hurts like heck at first. But, trust me, once you accept that it is okay to have dropped out, it hurts less. Plenty of people drop out. It is not the end of the world.

Screw the people that judge you for it. I know that you have heard it. Or felt it. Everyone has something to say to you about it. There is the assumption that you dropped out for negative, bad, terrible reasons. Oh no! You dropped out because you had to move back home to help your family! What a bad person! Forget the haters.

Dropping out is not the end of the world. Let me tell you something. Just because you did not get that fancy piece of paper does not mean that you can’t do something with your life. There are other options. I run a multi-million dollar establishment and have several certifications that came with time. Guess what? I did not need a college degree for that.

You are not a failure. Success is not confined to a college degree. You can be successful without that piece of paper.

You are not missing out on life. Life goes on. It doesn’t magically stop just because you are no longer in school. You do not cease to exist. You go on. You still get to meet people. You can still find “THE ONE.”.You can still travel. Eat bad food. Get sick. Get lost. Whatever you want. Living is not restricted to college.
