Why I Write The Sad Things

“Everything you write is sad. Why?”

I write all the sad things for when you’re done searching for me, I can love you in a way you’ll never have to look for anything more of me.

I write all the sad things for when you eventually find me, I’ll no longer write about them. It’ll be you, my love… and happiness.

I write all the sad things for when you’ve come to love me, I can love you the way you’re supposed to be loved — with every good that I have.

I write all the sad things for when you’re finally here with me, I can love you not only with my words, but also with my silence.

I write all the sad things for when you say “I love you”, words won’t need to be spoken because — you already knew. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
