8 Reasons I Want To Marry My Father

By

1. He’s hilarious.

No matter how bad of a day I’ve had, my dad always finds a way to make me laugh. Whether it’s an under-the-breath dry comment or a cheesy joke that only he thinks is funny, I can always count on him for a smile. This is one of the main things I look for in a guy. If you have no sense of humor then GTFO.

2. He’s loyal.

He would NEVER EVER even consider cheating on my mother. Even though my mother can be a little scatter-brained at times, he worships the ground she walks on. I don’t want to say he’s her bitch but I also don’t want to lie. In a society where loyalty has basically vanished, my dad keeps me hopeful that one day I’ll be lucky enough to find someone as devoted as him.

3. He’s motivated.

Ever since my grandfather walked out on him and his family, my dad dedicated his entire life to becoming the hardworking, successful man that he is today. Never once have I seen him take the easy way out of anything; he is always trying to find ways to motivate me. Whenever I start dating someone, I ask myself the following questions: Where is he going in life? And will he push me to be a better person or will he pull me down? I plan to have a husband who will constantly drive me to be my best in life.

4. He’s passionate.

Not only does he work hard, but he absolutely loves his job too. He wakes up at 5:00 am every morning and he’s never once complained about going to work. Even if my future husband were to make $10,000,000 a year, I could still never be with someone who despises his job. I find people who chase their dreams and do what they love to be extremely attractive.

5. He loves adventures.

Whether it’s kayaking, fishing or playing racquetball, my dad is always trying out something new; he does not fair well with boredom. If a guy were to ever try to take me sky diving or cliff jumping on a first date, I would toss the three-date-rule, right then and there, and kiss him right on the mouth.

6. He’s reliable.

Even though he works well over 40-hour-weeks, he always has time for his family. I know that if I call him at work, he will either answer right away or call me back the moment he gets a chance. Also, if we make plans I know they will be kept. I’m not saying my boyfriend should be on call 24/7 but it’s nice to know someone wants to hear your voice.

7. He loves sports.

He is the reason I bleed crimson. He is also the reason I become very destructive and violent when we lose a game. I’m a very sore loser.

8. There’s no one like him.

Boys, the bar has been set. And it is set HIGH. My mom is a lucky betch.
