The Little Things You Need To Do For Your Relationship To Work

By

Relationship is not just about what you have. It’s about what you do to make it work.

All relationships go through phases, where there will be good and bad times. The best relationships are not just about the good times you share, they’re also about the obstacles you go through together. Great relationships don’t happen by luck. Loving someone isn’t just about saying it every day, it’s showing it every day in every way and by what you do to make it work. Remember, it takes two people to make a relationship work. You both have to actively participate in the relationship and keep it positive to make it the healthiest, happiest, strongest and best that it can be.

So then, how do we make relationships work?

Commitment. You both need to have a desire to be together and commit to each other.

Respect. You need to respect each other’s decisions, and feelings. If you don’t respect each other the relationship will never work.

Communicate to your partner. Let your partner know what you are thinking. Don’t wait for your partner to try to guess what is going on with you. Good communication solves that problem.

Trust your partner. If you don’t, you shouldn’t be in the relationship. You have to trust each other for your relationship to work.

Never cheat. Cheating has ruined many relationships.

Keep the spark alive. Keep the chemistry alive to avoid being bored in each other’s company. Do an activity that you both enjoy.

Compliment each other. Sincerely and often.

Spend time together. Make your relationship a priority and make time for each other.

Give space. Allow each other just enough room to breathe, but not enough room to leave. Give yourselves the opportunity to miss one another. Give your partner the space they need, when they need it.

Be honest with each other. Being honest about your feelings will help you work through the problem. If there’s something you don’t like about them, tell them how you feel.

Don’t keep secrets from your partner. Being in a relationship means that you’re a team! Include them in what you did and where you went as much as possible. Keep secrets with your partner, not from your partner.

Tell your loved one how much he means to you. You should tell your loved one that you love him every single day. Tell your partner how lucky you feel to have them in your life. Make them feel special.

Learn to say you’re sorry. Learn to apologize if you’ve done something wrong. If you want to be in a long-lasting relationship, then you absolutely have to learn how to say sorry.

Support and encourage each other. You must support each other no matter what. Never ever leave your partner unsupported.

Talk about your future together. This shows that you are both in the relationship for the long term.

Forgive each other as soon as possible. Don’t wait a day, a week or a month.
