It’s almost the anniversary of Kesha’s latest album, Rainbow, and to celebrate, the singer is releasing a behind-the-scenes documentary chronicling her journey through the creative process. Honestly, it looks just as powerful and emotional as you’d expect from an album that came in the wake of Kesha’s legal battle with her producer Dr. Luke, who she accused of sexual assault.

Just take a look at the trailer, which plays out partially like a bad trip and partially like an indie movie about the power of healing. You’ll recognize clips from her music videos as well as clips from her performance at the 2018 Grammys, where she was flanked by other female performers who stood in solidarity.

“Sometimes things feel like they’re too much to handle. You may be able to pull it together and put on a front in front of others, but inside, you’re trapped, suffocating slowly,” Kesha says in a voiceover during the trailer, later adding, “This album quite literally saved my life.”

Kesha has been through quite a journey the past few years, which is evident in the documentary. She’s been through hell and back, felt herself falling and then clawed her way back up to redemption. And while Rainbow is a deeply personal album, it’s easy to see yourself in her message, all of your own suffering, fears, and hope reflected back at you. This will not be an easy documentary to watch, but I’m definitely going to watch it anyway. TC mark

This is me letting you go

If there’s one thing we all need to stop doing, it’s waiting around for someone else to show up and change our lives. Just be the person you’ve been waiting for.

At the end of the day, you have two choices in love – one is to accept someone just as they are and the other is to walk away.

We owe it to ourselves to live the greatest life that we’re capable of living, even if that means that we have to be alone for a very long time.
