When it came out that Tristan Thompson had cheated on Khloe Kardashian (just days before baby True’s birth), it was all people could talk about. Everyone had an opinion about it, including Khloe’s mother and older sister Kim Kardashian. (In case you were wondering, they were not happy about it.) But Khloe herself remained silent on the issue, avoiding interviews and even social media as she remained in Cleveland with Tristan to raise their daughter.
But here we are, approximately five months later, and Khloe decided to speak out for the first time — because of a Twitter comment, of all things.
It all started when a fan tweeted she couldn’t understand why Kardashian, who always preached about women knowing their self-worth, would stay with “wasteman Tristan,” calling her a hypocrite. Apparently it work Khloe up just enough that she actually responded.
“[Y]ou have no knowledge of what goes on in our household or the enormous rebuilding this takes to even coexist,” Kardashian wrote. “I appreciate your opinion and I hope you still hold the same opinion to everyone else who has stayed in situations.”
Khloe later clarified that she wasn’t angry at the fan, and that she appreciated her despite the criticism.
It’s the first time Khloe has really acknowledged Tristan’s cheating scandal publicly, and I’m intrigued to see if it’ll snowball into Kardashian talking about it more openly. After all, people have a lot of questions, but I understand Khloe wanting to keep some things private. Whatever she chooses, I’m still rooting for her!
