Here’s Why Chrissy Teigen Was Pissed She Couldn’t Make It To The Met Gala

By

The Met Gala is one of the most high profile social (and fashion) events of the year. Every May, all your faves dress up in somewhat-ridiculous outfits to flaunt on the red carpet and spend the night partying away with one another, leaving the rest of us plebeians to wonder what the hell actually goes on during the event. Do people just… talk?

Anyway, this year, some of our faves couldn’t make it to the event — Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Sarah Silverman, for example. Among them is Chrissy Teigen, queen of Twitter.

Teigen chose not to attend the event because it was “too risky” given her pregnancy, and instead spent the night watching Bravo and tweeting.

But just because she’s chose not to go doesn’t mean she’s not bitter about it. And bitter about it she is — but if you ask me, it’s for a pretty good reason. She explains the whole thing succinctly in this screenshot:

Seriously, can you blame her? This year’s Met Gala theme was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” which, while controversial, also inspired a lot of lewks.

Hopefully you’ll have better luck next year, Chrissy. I’m looking forward to you wearing your own pope-inspired headpiece.
