This White Student Was Arrested For Harassing Her Black Roommate With Moldy Clam Dip And Used Tampons

Nearly everyone has at least one story about a terrible roommate, but few are as bad as Brianna Brochu, the actual Roommate from Hell.

Brochu was arrested today for brutally harassing her black roommate. She admitted online to spitting in her roommate’s coconut oil, putting moldy clam dip in her lotions, rubbing used tampons on her backpack, and actually shoving her roommates toothbrush “where the sun don’t shine.” Brochu also claimed she licked her roommates plates and utensils.

Chennel “Jazzy” Rowe, Brochu’s roommate, had no idea what her roommate had been doing at the time, but noticed that she began getting mysteriously sick as tensions began to heighten with Brochu. She went on Facebook Live to chronicle the phenomenon, explaining how much money she spent and how many classes she skipped trying to get better.

Around the same time, she decided to move out of her dorm room due to her rocky relationship with Brochu. It wasn’t until she Rowe out that Brochu took to Instagram to brag about the harassment, writing, “Finally did it ya girl got rid of her roommate!” and “I can finally say goodbye to Jamaican Barbie.”

Brochu claimed that she was simply reacting to the hostile environment Rowe had created (by allegedly uploading Snapchats of Brochu snoring) and that she had also requested a room change but was denied. Brochu also told authorities that though she had licked her roommates utensils and rubbed tampons on her bag, she had made up the rest of the claims to “appear funny” on the Internet (um, okay then).

Hartford confirmed that Brochu has now been arrested and an investigation is underway by local authorities. The university ensured that they are currently in contact with the student and her family.

Rowe believes the situation would have been handled different had she been white and Brochu been black.

“If the roles was switched, I want to know if it would be handled the same way, right?” Rowe said in her video. “Because I damn well know it wouldn’t.”
