Musicians React To The Massacre In Las Vegas With Messages Of Unity And Love

Last night, a gunman open-fired into a crowd of concert-goers in Las Vegas during a country music concert, killing at least 50 people and wounding over 400 others. It was the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history.

Jason Aldean, who was on stage performing when the massacre began, recently added this Instagram post to share his sentiments about the horrific night.

He wrote:

Tonight has been beyond horrific. I still don’t know what to say but wanted to let everyone know that Me and my Crew are safe. My Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved tonight. It hurts my heart that this would happen to anyone who was just coming out to enjoy what should have been a fun night. #heartbroken #stopthehate

It’s no surprise that Aldean is speechless — after all, he was a firsthand witness to one of the biggest American tragedies of our time.

Others have taken to social media to show their support to the families and friends of victims, including Jake Owen and Chris Young, who were also in Las Vegas during the massacre.

But even musicians who weren’t in Las Vegas had words of love and unity they wanted to share in light of the horrifying terrorist attack.

It’s beautiful to see so many people coming together after such a terrifying event. Despite so much division within the U.S., this is the kind of unity and solidarity it needs to heal. But as much as hopes and prayers matter, so do actions. If you live in the Las Vegas area, you can donate blood to help those who were injured during the massacre and hopefully save a life.

Musician or not, we need to be here for each other — no matter what others may say, that’s the American way.
