This Teen’s Senior Photos Were ‘Too Inappropriate’ For Her School, But The Swim Team’s Speedos Weren’t

By now, we all pretty much know that dress codes are pretty sexist. It’s very rare that institutions call out men for dressing a certain way, but common for them to criticize and punish women for showing too much skin or being too “sexualized”. And this is no exception.

Twitter user Eleanor was told by her school that her senior photos were “too inappropriate” because they showed off her bralette.

But you know what was considered okay? This picture of the men’s swim team.

Eleanor called out the injustice on Twitter, not to shame the swim team, but to point out that the rules were clearly unfair.

Honestly, it didn’t make a lot of sense for a lot of people.

Some people had other ideas…

Some people, on the other hand, argued that the school had a point.

So, what do you think? Is it a sexist rule or are the two photos very separate issues? Is showing off a bralette and shoulders inappropriate? Or should we all just be over this BS already? Because honestly, to me, these school rules are just getting ridiculous. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
