Miss Texas Completely Destroyed Trump During Her Q&A And No One Saw It Coming

I’ve never known exactly what to think about the Miss America pageant, which can be both empowering for women and cringeworthy for everyone, depending on the contestants. It’s easy to ignore the pageant altogether, but every now and then you find a gem you just don’t want to miss.

Take this year’s Miss Texas, for instance. She may not have won the crown (congrats, Miss North Dakota!), but she did win over our hearts when one judge decided to ask her about Charlottesville.

“Last month a demonstration of neo-Nazis, white supremacists and the KKK in Charlottesville, Virginia, turned violent and a counter-protester was killed,” the judge asked Texas contestant Margana Wood during the Q&A portion of the pageant. “The president said there was shared blame with, quote, ‘very fine people’ on both sides. Were there? Tell me yes or no and explain.”

It’s a politically-charged and heavy question, but Wood didn’t hesitate to answer. Her 15-second spiel is everything we ever needed.

“I think that the White Supremacist issue, it was very obvious that it was a terrorist attack and I think that President Donald Trump should have made a statement earlier addressing the fact and that making sure all Americans feel safe in this country that is the number one issue right now.”

People definitely weren’t expecting it, that’s for sure.

Now, if only we could train Trump to react this way. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
