Aaron Carter Was Arrested For A DUI And Fans On Twitter Have Plenty Of Jokes

Aaron, oh Aaron, what are we going to do with you?

As a dedicated Aaron Carter fan when I was ten years old, I’ve taken it upon myself to keep up with the has-been pop star on principle. Much like other people stalk their first loves on Facebook, I stalk mine in the media, carefully reading up on each new mishap that finds its way to the news. So of course when I found out Carter was arrested for a DUI and drug possession, I was all over that shit like you’re all over your ex’s new relationship status.

Carter was supposed to perform in Kansas City (S/O to my hometown!!!), but couldn’t because of “transportation issues.” In reality, he and his girlfriend, Madison Parker, were pulled over by police in Georgia, where Carter refused a breathalyzer and where authorities found marijuana and paraphernalia in his car.

Ironically, Carter has been very open lately about the fact that he’s been cleaning up his public act. In fact, he tweeted this only hours before the arrest:

Not to mention that days before the incident, he told TMZ, “You won’t catch me getting any DUIs… I don’t even drink.” Yeah. Uh huh.

Carter’s brother, former Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, tweeted out his support after the incident. I sure hope he also reached out to Aaron directly, but I never know in this day and age.

And Carter’s fans? Well, Twitter showed a wide array of emotions, from disbelief to amused.

Let’s just say I’m glad I wasn’t invited to that party.
