Merriam-Webster Schooled Ivanka Trump On Twitter After She Said She Didn’t Know What It Meant To Be ‘Complicit’

By

You know shit’s getting real when even a dictionary roasts the Trump family. And yet here we are.

Merriam-Webster decided to take a jab at Ivanka Trump after the First Daughter’s interview about her role as her father’s unpaid assistant. When asked what she thought about people’s criticism that she was too complicit in what’s happening at the White House, Ivanka gave a vague reply, including this gem, “I don’t know what it means to be complicit.”

Of course, that’s exactly the part of the interview that everyone got caught up on. According to Merriam-Webster, it became the No. 1 lookup online after the video was released.

And, naturally, Twitter was loving it.

Some people offered to help Ivanka out.

Others gave some suggestions for other words Ivanka and the rest of the Trump administration should probably look up while they’re at it.

Will she ever learn the meaning of the word “complicit”? We figure she’ll find out sooner or later.

Until then, keep on keeping on, Merriam-Webster.

Who knew a reference book could get so political? But I guess in 2017, anything is possible.
