I don’t know what the hell is wrong with April 2017, but at this point anything could happen and I’d just shrug and say, “Meh, OK.”
Like this morning, when I woke up and saw what was trending on Twitter.

#NationalGrilledCheeseDay? Yum. #TrumpandthePress? Honestly, we don’t even need a hashtag for that at this point. Ben Carson? Well, he’s a public figure, so whatevs.
And then I took a closer look.

Um, what?
Apparently Carson, who is the Housing and Urban Development Secretary (in case you need reminding), was touring an affordable housing complex in Miami when he got stuck in the elevator, leaving NBA star Alonzo Mourning waiting outside for him.
Of course, leave it to Twitter to make the most out of any situation.
Ben Carson being stuck in an elevator in a public housing building is God reminding us that she always has the last word.

Just waiting for Ben Carson's official statment that says he now knows how immigrants, sorry meant slaves, felt once they were freed.

Ben Carson would get stuck in a broken elevator.
It's basically a metaphor for his venture into career politics.

Instead of prying Ben Carson out of the elevator, we should just make him Secretary of That Elevator and leave him there

Ben Carson got stuck in the housing complex in Miami for 20 minutes. If only @solangeknowles was on there with him. 😂

Do you think Ben Carson will change his mind about public housing spending now that he got stuck in an elevator in a public building? 😂

We need a live stream. Ben Carson stuck in an elevator could be the nation's new #AprilTheGiraffe.

It all seems kind of fitting, doesn’t it?

Of course, not everyone appreciated the jokes. Some people stood up for Carson, saying he was trending for all the wrong reasons.
Ben Carson found a half trillion budgeting error the other day. But he only trends for getting stuck in an elevator

One can’t help but wonder how they’re going to try to spin this one.

Don’t worry though, guys. As great as it is to make fun of it, he did get out eventually.

But lol, just one more joke.

OK now, let’s just be honest: at least he’s trending for getting stuck in an elevator and not for saying something about slavery (or, you know, Hitler — looking at you, Spicy) this time around.
