I Still Believe That If We Are Meant To Be Together, We Will

C. E. Shebat

I chose myself over you and I’d do it again.

I was terrified and uncertain, but the blurry path that awaited me was something I needed to walk alone.

You would have asked too many questions in an effort to comprehend, but I would not be able to answer them.

They were the same questions I was asking my own soul and hearing them out aloud, would only reinforce the fear I felt as a treaded into the unknown.

I don’t regret my decision, though for a time, I thought I did. But I needed to do it for me and even you.

I can only trust that if we’re meant to be some way, somehow, we will. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
