This Is For Any Woman Struggling With Her Self-Esteem, You’re Not Alone

What I wish for your eyes, your eyes to see, is everything you are and everything you can be

I don’t know when and I don’t know how, but my eyes have deceived me for so long now

When I look in the mirror what I see, is a woman full of self-hatred staring back at me

No matter how many people tell me I’m not just composed of flaws, I am quick to dismiss them, because it must be that if they don’t see what I see, they must be frauds

Time and time again I have been in disbelief, about the fact that I can no longer see, the very woman staring back at me

The woman with many achievements that should be so proud, but the woman whose insecurities speak too loud

As a woman, I hope you’re able to see that you are a beautiful part of this world, and not just to me

You were meant to be here, you are one of the universes greatest gifts, I hope you know that, and that that the view never shifts

But here I am, wishing these things, when I know it’s nearly impossible to ignore your own dents and dings

While you may look at your body and see nothing but cellulite, know that your smile lights up someone’s life

I want you to see yourself for who you truly are, but if you’re anything like me, it has been too long since you’ve been able to see so far

I hope that you realize your true worth, and always remember that you bring something great to this earth

When your vision gets cloudy, just try to remember and see, the passionate woman you are and will continue to be

I hope that you love whatever you do, and always see the beautiful woman staring back at you. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
