10 Ways To Feel More Confident As A Woman Today

By

The beauty of a woman is something that I believe is timeless and when I say beauty, I mean both outwardly and inwardly.

There are so many things about us that make us unique and being a woman all in itself is just so damn powerful, especially considering all of the leaps and bounds we have made for ourselves over the years.

We have so many great women to look up to today who are in positions of power. Michelle Obama, Beyonce, Meghan Markle now, who I am sure a lot of young women will relate to as well.

But in a world where it is so easy to feel insecure with all of the images given to us about what beautiful really means, feeling insecure is something we can’t avoid. However, there are ways we can help ourselves feel more confident daily in who we are as women when it comes to our looks and how we feel on the inside.

Here are 10 ways to feel more confident as a woman today:

1. Speak kinder to yourself

As women, we can literally be our worst enemies. We focus so much on our perceived flaws instead of elevating ourselves so we feel good. When you look in the mirror, try to enforce positive self-talk. Compliment yourself, tell yourself you are beautiful, strong, and will be successful. What you feed your mind is what it will take and just like you can stare at yourself and say, “I’m ugly,” and feel that, you can say, “I’m gorgeous,” and feel that and believe that instead. It all comes down to self-talk.

2. Stop comparing yourself to other women

This is something that is so easy to do when it comes to our girlfriends, or people we see online, but you are an original. No one can do you like you. Focus more on what makes you beautiful and unique and you will find it better to love yourself and others in return. The more time you spend making yourself better, the less time you will even feel inclined to compare.

3. Dress up look your best

What you wear has an automatic effect on how you will in turn feel. Wear what makes you feel sexy, wear your makeup and live your life constantly slaying. It will make you feel amazing. If you get up everyday and throw yourself together like you don’t give af, well guess what? You won’t.

4. Exercise

Even though I am currently more than horrible when it comes to exercising, it’s good for your health and it makes you look your best. Exercising also produces endorphins so you will feel good mentally as well. You look good on the outside and on the inside. Automatic win-win.

5. Find hobbies

In general, everyone should have hobbies that they engage in that makes life more enjoyable, but especially as women, having hobbies are healthy because they help you carve out an identity for yourself. When you start to have titles like a wife and mother, it is easy to lose yourself in that role.

Always have a hobby. My mom makes butters and bath bombs and cooks in her spare time. You can write, start an online class/business, teach something, the possibilities are endless. When you find hobbies that help you carve out an identity for yourself, you will find yourself being more confident.

6. Prioritize self-care

So many people will say that they simply don’t have the time to take care of themselves, but how can you even function if you don’t? Take care of you! Get your hair done, your nails done, get a proper facial, rest up, read books that keep you back on track, listen to podcasts, or whatever it is that allows you to tap into your authentic self. I am always treating myself, whether it be with a purchase or just devoting time to getting a facial. You have to take care of you.

7. Stop taking things too personally

We live in a world where negativity surrounds us. In the way the world works and even in the way people speak to us. Negativity just exists and there are always going to be people who want to try and bring you down. Don’t let them. Don’t take every little thing personally and allow it to in turn, steal your joy. It’s never worth it.

8. Start believing in yourself and all you are capable of

It’s time you start believing that you are capable of winning in this life. You are capable of graduating from school against all odds, of writing a book, becoming a motivational speaker, mentoring youth, starting that business, or whatever it is you want to do. Believe that you can achieve these things and then, go after it.

9. Celebrate others

It’s not often easy to do when your life isn’t where you want it to be, but believe me when I tell you that celebrating others increases your confidence. It just takes the stress off of you because you aren’t competing with anyone. If someone gets something, just wish them well because you know blessings are in store for you.

10. Cultivate your purpose

We all have a purpose. Whether it is to write and encourage others, be a leader of some sort, be a voice for something, there is something you are here to do that will make an impact on the world and you need to know that. When a woman walks in her purpose, it shows. She knows exactly what she wants and no one can convince her otherwise. Find your purpose and own it.

Confidence is something that doesn’t grow overnight, but know that as a woman being confident, feeling beautiful, is something you are entitled to. Don’t ever second guess that as being a fact.
