There is Now a Website For Tracking How Many People You've Had Sex With

Editor’s Note: In an earlier version of this post, we misinterpreted nOOkist’s service agreement. The article has been updated to reflect this. nOOkist takes privacy and confidentiality seriously.

nOOkist,” a site with over 20,000 members, gives you “the ability to quickly glance at your sexual history… provid[ing] as much information as possible to that you can make an accurate and sound judgement pertaining to your sex life. All of the statistics are in real-time, and represent your sexual activity”

nOOkist’s “statistics” “show hard, raw numbers… about your sexual lifestyle and what it will take to make a difference in your life.” And in your “session log,” you can even record the position(s) in which you had sex! TC mark

In response to your blog posting regarding the internet service nOOkist; a few things need to be cleared up.

nOOkist was created in 2004 and has been reported in numerous articles on and off-line as being a much-needed and well-respected sexual health service. nOOkist is a safe, secure and most importantly, *confidential* service aimed at promoting safe sex through education and awareness.

Your blog posting implying that the site is anything other than upstanding and legit is nothing short of being blatantly slanderous – attempting to ruin the reputation of the service and company.

nOOkist is not in the public dissemination of personal information business – it’s a private service for our users. nOOkist has NEVER and will NEVER distribute any user information to third parties.

The Terms of Service state rather matter-of-factly:
“By posting Content to any *public area* of nOOkist, you automatically grant, and you represent and warrant that you have the right to grant, to nOOkist, its affiliates, licensees and successors, an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, fully paid, worldwide license to use, copy, perform, display, reproduce, adapt, modify and distribute such information and content and to prepare derivative works from, distribute, perform, transmit and display such Content(in whole or part) and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media, or technology now known or later developed. You further represent and warrant that *public posting* and use of your content by nOOkist will not infringe or violate the rights or privacy of you or any third party.”

It should be noted, that the confidential service is for “your eyes only” – and the ONLY public area of nOOkist are the FORUMS. The policy specifically states any “public area” of the service; as such – any sexual history entered in the service is kept and remains completely confidential.

We would appreciate if you would update your blog to reflect the actuality of the policy and not instigate hypothetical ideas that have no basis in fact.
