Give Yourself The Permission You’re Seeking From Everyone Else And Go Live Your Truth

It’s so easy to get wrapped up in other people’s opinions about you and your life. It’s easy to listen to others press their fears on you when you have a new idea. It’s easy to let those fears go to your head and say to yourself, yeah, I guess it’s not worth the risk. But it is.

Making decisions is hard – it’s really, really hard. Knowing what you want is also hard but the only way to discover what you really want is to go out and get it. You have to try in order to know what it is you really want.

At the end of the day, you are the only one who is truly capable of living your life. You can take people’s tricks and tips but it comes down to you and what you decide to do with that information. It comes down to what you want and how much work you’re willing to do to get there.

If everyone listened to people when they said “no” to them the first time the world would be nowhere near what it is today. If everyone quit after they got rejected once or even twice or maybe even ten times we wouldn’t be where we are today. If people stopped pursuing their dreams because their parents or coworker said it was too risky then we wouldn’t have the art we do, the books we do, the electronics, the restaurants, the shows – you get it. Everything we have that we love is because someone had an idea and despite the odds they decided to take the risk.

It’s human nature to want permission, though. I still ask my parents permission for things I will do regardless of if they approve or not just because it feels nice to have them on my side and if they aren’t then I want to prove them I am capable. It just good and comforting to have permission from an external source but it really should come from within.

Give yourself the permission you keep seeking from elsewhere. Allow yourself to take risks, to become the person you want to be, to live out your dreams. Don’t stay on a path that doesn’t fill your soul with inspiration because you feel like it’s what you’re supposed to do. Screw what you’re supposed to do and do what you were born to do.

Finding your purpose is hard, I’m still trying to discover mine but it’s there somewhere and I’m going to keep working at it.

Do what you have to do for the time being but never settle there; never get so comfortable that going after what you really want is too scary for you because you have so much more in you than you believe you are capable of. When you want to give up, when you think you’ve had enough just dig a little deeper and push a little further – you’ll be amazed at how much you can truly handle.

It’s not always going to be easy – there will be bumps, struggles, failures and a hell of a lot of lessons along the way but those things will all lead you to where you’re supposed to be as long as you don’t give up.

Give yourself permission to try, to fail, to overcome, to go after your dreams. Give yourself the permission and validation you keep seeking from everyone else and go live your truth.

You don’t need anyone else’s approval because this is your life. You are the only one who gets to walk this path. No two people on this earth walk the same path because there are millions of different ways to go. You don’t need to follow the cookie cutter steps of your family.

Give yourself permission to go after your goals because the only thing worse than failing is never trying.

Be able to say you at least tried, you at least went after your dreams so you don’t wake up one morning wondering where the hell your life went.

You are capable of so much – don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
