If This Year Has Made You Desperate For Change, Read This

So many times in the last few months, I have wanted something different. I don’t want to go back to the life I had before I heard COVID-19. Though I have been waiting for a new mountain to climb, not realizing, right now, in this world and moment, I am on my new mountain. This has not been a gap in time but a new unknown to live in. I have been learning and changing skills to be able to survive in this environment and atmosphere. There is a surrendering to evolution to meet this moment.

Be scared. I’m scared too. There have been so many changes on a personal and collective level that it would be impossible to not have fear flowing through you. So many of our lives have changed drastically in such a short period of time. There have been a variety of situations that have put us in fight, flight or freeze mode that have caused some kind of trauma. These circumstances kicked up old dust and added new grief. Feel all of this as a wave moving through you, and when you are feeling brave, trace it to the root. I’m feeling all of this too.

Rest. Our bodies are constantly taking everything in from life and they need time to digest. When we let ourselves process fully, we are giving ourselves the opportunity to understand and heal. Surrender and give yourself a full night’s sleep, warm cup of tea, time away from technology, or whatever it is that is calming for you. By doing this, you are telling yourself, “I MATTER,” and this is the strongest and most important message you can give yourself in times of change.

Follow your intuition. The North Star of your life will never be outside of yourself. It will be a bright feeling from within. The more you honor this strong undeniable force, the more you are able to change direction from your core when you come upon roadblocks in life. This connection will allow you to dance more fluidly with the world. By truly listening to yourself, you will not have a life that looked like it did before, but you will have a life you deserve.

A quote to take with you: “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most adaptable to change.” ~ Charles Darwin
