People Do Bad Things, But You Should Be Good Through All Of It Because Of Karma

By

If I had a dollar for everytime I patted myself on the back for not punching someone in the face or verbally assaulting them when they deserved it, I would have a lot of money and a very tired arm. I have zero tolerance for a lot of things (condescension, rudeness, bullying, snobby bitches, fake bitches, passive aggressiveness, lying, douchebags, not saying thank you when I hold the door for you etc. etc. etc.). I don’t like being treated badly or seeing other people treated badly.

Curse my parents for raising me right and making me always feel inclined to “do the right thing”. It Sucks. Sometimes you’re 23-years-old and find yourself having to bite your tongue because you want to say things like “Nobody likes you because you’re a huge bitch,” “Your boyfriend doesn’t really love you”, “I’m probably going to key your car tonight”.

I realize I am an adult, I play one every day at work, but these things cross my mind. HOWEVER, I don’t like MEAN people. I see no use for it. Mean people sometimes just make you want to be a mean person too. When I see people treat others in a way I don’t think is right- it takes everything in my power not to put them in their place. I can’t help it.

There are undoubtedly people who deserve a good slap in the face by reality, or slap in the face physically…but who am I to get in the way of Karma? It’s hard when you try to maintain a solid moral code and yet the liars, cheaters, manipulators of the world keep getting whatever it is they want. It’s exhausting when you feel like you have been walked on, and used, and abused, and they are there mentally high fiving themselves over another win.

Someday you will meet someone and you will genuinely treat them well and they will turn around and use your good heartedness against you, they will take advantage of it, they will hurt you. Your honesty, your kindness, your integrity – sometimes it won’t be enough. Sometimes it’s the people who lack those things that will get ahead and that will never make sense. For a moment, you will wonder why you even bother being that GOOD person. Don’t stop. Never become the type of person you dislike. Don’t jeopardize the quality of your character to undermine the negative aspects of someone else’s (as much as they may deserve it).

Remember, not all that glitters is gold. People may do bad things to others, seemingly without repercussions – but there are always repercussions. Karma, though sometimes fashionably later than we hoped- always shows up. There will always be people out there who will try to bring you down, and make you feel small to make themselves feel bigger. Keep in mind though, the view from the top- no matter what that means to you- will always be better knowing you didn’t step on people to get there.
