1. They might need to nap.
Because empaths are so aware of (and absorb) the energy of those around them, it’s easy for them to get overwhelmed by negative stimuli. As a result, this can leave them feeling super drained, both emotionally and physically. Empaths typically require more sleep to recharge than your average person might.
2. It’s hard for them to watch the news.
Don’t be surprised if they ask you to turn it off. It doesn’t mean they don’t care or that they aren’t interested in being informed. It’s just that watching difficult stuff stays with them for a long time. It informs how they act for days. They are often sleepless over it. And to be fair, they are the first ones to donate (if they can), but seeing images on their television screen can be really difficult. While it’s understandably important to know what’s going on, it’s also something that empaths can struggle with. They have a hard time disconnecting.
3. They know when you had a bad day (even if you don’t say anything).
They are sensitive to even the most subtle changes in you. The tone of your voice, a shift in body language, your choice of words. They pay close attention to you, because they care about you, and immediately know when something’s up. It’s going to be hard to fool an empath. Your empath love is going to know when you say, “I’m fine!” and you definitely are not fine.
4. They will go to the ends of the earth for you. Seriously.
When an empath loves, they love HARD. Your happiness is tied so closely to their own, and making sure you feel taken care of and supported brings them so much joy.
5. They appreciate emotional support.
To an empath, having someone who is there for them is HUGELY important. Even if it’s just letting them know you’re around, it can make a world of difference to them.
6. Don’t fear their intensity.
They feel things greatly. Love, anger, worry, heartache. They experience emotions at a higher level. But this isn’t something to fear. Being with someone who is so passionate about the world is thrilling and always inspiring.
