7 Funny Things Only Pregnant Women Can Get Away With

By

When you’re pregnant, everyone seems overly concerned about your health and wellbeing, and with ensuring that you’re well taken care of. While this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, once in a while, it’s okay to dial down and have some fun. After all, pregnancy is an exciting experience and every day ushers in a new reward. Keeping all that in mind, there are more than a few things that women can take a break from when they’re pregnant, since they already have enough to deal with. Here are seven things you can always get away with if you’re pregnant.

1. Eating everything.

Remember that dessert that you loved but used to avoid because of all those calories? Well, guess what? It’s back on the menu! Being pregnant means your hunger cravings are nothing to be ashamed of. You can order anything you want, and gorge yourself on all your favorites without thinking twice. So, the next time you have to choose between your favorite dishes at a restaurant, save yourself the time and effort and order both. After all, you are eating for two, aren’t you?

2. Throwing tantrums.

When you’re pregnant, your family and friends will understand just how sensitive you are right now. This means that they are likely to be extra careful with what they say and do around you. Even the occasional tantrum that you throw is not likely to be any problem. So, you’ll mostly get your way in almost any situation.

3. Letting your fashion sense take a backseat.

You can wear loose-fitting, baggy outfits and still feel as lovely as ever. Bloating during pregnancy is unpleasant, but at least you don’t have to cover it up. And don’t bother with makeup – your natural pregnancy glow will do all the work for you.

4. Putting yourself first.

Some of you may be compulsive people pleasers. You only think of yourself after everyone else has been taken care of. Well, during your pregnancy, it’s your turn to sit back and enjoy the first place, the center of attention. Whether it’s getting a seat on a crowded bus or not having to stand in line, people will bend over backwards to accommodate you.

5. Crying anytime, anywhere.

Ever felt like having a good cry in the middle of the annual sales meeting? Being pregnant is the one time you’re allowed to be completely in touch with your feelings. And, if someone dares say that you’re behaving inappropriately, push the blame on your out-of-control hormones.

6. ‘Forgetting’ your chores.

As a mom-to-be, you have every right to park yourself in front of the TV and binge watch your favorite movies and shows. Someone else will look after all the household chores that you were initially responsible for. Why? Because it’s important that you get all the rest you can. It’s vital for you and your baby. Well, at least that’s what you’ll tell them.

7. Sleeping all day.

Again, this is something you could only get away with if you were pregnant. A pregnant lady needs her rest. So, it’s okay to have a morning, mid-day, and post dinner nap before you finally go to sleep. This will allow you to ensure you’re in the highest physical condition for the coming day’s hectic schedule of napping.

Being pregnant can be a trying time for even the most strong-willed of women. They are constantly uncomfortable, and yet will bear it with a big smile and a fantastic attitude. So, the next time you see a pregnant woman, make sure you’re mindful of her needs and help her in any way you can.
