1. There’s no one to impress.
I can’t explain how amazing it feels to wake up in the morning and know I have no guy that’s going to be up my ass all day annoying me. I can go to class without makeup on because I know I’m not going to run into any guy that I care about looking good for. There’s no annoying text messages telling me to “snapchat back” because there’s no annoying guy in my life who expects me to look pretty. I can wear, dress, and look however the hell I want, and not have to hear anything about it.
2. I don’t have to deal with any clinginess.
After just going on one date with a guy recently, he had the guts to try and tell me I was “unfaithful” to him for kissing a guy at a party I went to a few nights after our date. I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty sure I can kiss whoever I want when I’m still SINGLE. One date doesn’t equal a relationship.
Just in case any other guys out there are confused about that. He also would text me 5 times in a row asking “You there?” when I wasn’t answering his texts right away. When you don’t have a guy in your life, the clinginess isn’t an issue you have to deal with.
3. My life is more stress free.
Unless you’re blessed with a pretty perfect person (doesn’t exist), you’re going to deal with some drama. It’s inevitable that relationships come with some added stress, and that’s something that will never change.
With no guy in your life you’re free to go with the flow and not have to worry about the little things, like planning the next time you hangout, or getting asked a million questions when you want to go out with just your friends and not have him there.
I also love not having a guy in my life who is constantly asking about sex or trying to push the limits to see what I’d do with him. (I know all guys aren’t like this, but we’ve all had to deal with a few scumbags.) I love having no one to answer to, and getting to live my life without someone else’s opinions in the background.
There is also no immaturity to deal with. You don’t have to deal with guys getting so butt hurt about you ending things that they block you from Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, and every other possible social media outlet you had them on, then texting you every single day weeks later asking for a second chance. (Yes, this happened to me with the guy who took me on ONE date.) It feels freeing knowing you have no added stress from a guy on top of the many other things you have to deal with in your daily life.
4. I keep a clear head.
I’m one of many girls who will agree that when a new guy comes into my life it’s very easy for me to get swept up into it. My carefree attitude before meeting him usually turns into wanting to make sure I look cute enough for our date, checking my phone to see if he texted back, and daydreaming about the future. I hate when I start acting like this kind of girl.
I love having my own independence and being able to focus 100% on my self. At this young age I want to be able to be selfish and worry about my own life without having a guy in the picture who I have to deal with. When I’m involved with a guy it becomes a little easier for me to put my own goals and dreams to the side, as I try to juggle both a relationship and focusing on what I have to do to get to the places in life I want to be.
When there’s no guy in the picture, I have zero distractions. I feel like there’s no one standing in my way, and that’s exactly how I like to feel. I want to know I’m in complete control. I don’t like to rely on others or pour my emotions into something that won’t last.
Until I meet my dream guy, I’d rather not waste a second worrying about somebody else when I could be focusing on me and heading to the top in all other aspects of my life.
5. My phone battery doesn’t suffer.
Random, yet important.
Have you ever noticed your phone dies a lot quicker when you’re involved with a guy? This is because you constantly have a text to respond to throughout the day.
Without a guy blowing up my phone all day bothering me to text him back I usually leave class with 70% on my phone, instead of a dead battery. That’s pretty awesome.
It’s the little things.
