These words hit you like a giant wave over your head and you can’t overcome the passing because, guess what–you can’t swim.
We have these thoughts about ourselves all the time. When you have a strong feeling you can’t do something because you’re not skilled enough or knowledgeable enough, or if you feel like you’re incompatible with a person you admire. There are times when you replay these words in your mind until you let yourself believe they are true.
It becomes even more dangerous when you let this negative attitude affect your personality because then it will start to affect your everyday life and most importantly your everyday relationships.
This is when a good support system is crucial. In times when you believe there is a brick wall in front of the road to your goals, it is important to have people who will lend you a good pair of hiking boots, a rope and maybe a boost because they believe you can do it on your own. If you’ve tried and you still can’t climb that wall, they will be there to help you realize you can pave a new path–there are other dreams
waiting for you. These are the kind of people you need in your life. People who help you realize your true potential–even if you end up sucking at the initial things you wanted to do, but through this there will be stories and lots of laughter in the near future.
They will remind you that you are amazing on your own but you are definitely not alone. Don’t ever let a person who tells you you’re not good enough stay in your life because they are not a friend, and they do not want to see you do well.
Most importantly and cheesily enough, believe in yourself. You’re the only person who has the power to tell yourself you can and will do something. Be good to yourself and you will reflect this positivity to everyone around you.
