If you don’t make space for what you really want, you’ll constantly be settling for less.
She had (and still has) a strength and resilience that is admirable. To sacrifice, to persevere, to put your own needs aside for something greater (in her case, her children) – that is true courage. It is this very courage that I find missing in many people of this generation.
First you need to make space for her. If you’re stringing along a bunch of girls that you know you don’t really like but keep them around to fill up time and satiate your loneliness – you’ve got to close the door.
When you don’t stand your ground, when you tolerate someone walking all over you, when you say yes when you mean no – you give up your power.
Loving yourself is not a destination. Loving yourself is a muscle you build. It’s a choice you make, every single day, in the same way, you must choose to love another person through the good times and the bad.
