I Wish I Could Tell You That Love Is Easy

By

I wish I could tell you that finding the one is all you need to be happy.

I wish I could tell you that all the Disney movies are telling the truth.

I wish I could tell you that love was looking into someone’s eyes and just “knowing” they’re right for you.

I wish I could tell you that love was just a bunch of montage-able moments.

I wish I could tell you that love was easy.

I wish I could tell you that you never cry at night anymore when you’ve found someone.

I wish I could tell you that people never leave once you’ve found them.

I wish I could tell you that love was just about finding the right person.

But I can’t. Because that isn’t what real love is like.

Love is about becoming a better person, stronger than who you used to be.

You need to be strong because love is hard.

Love is painful.

People leave, even if you tell them you love them.

It doesn’t matter how much you love them.

Sometimes, you even find yourself crying more than you would’ve if you were single.

Love is hard work. It’s a commitment.

There will be times that you will have to do things you don’t feel like doing.

There will be times you will hate Disney movies because in real life, true love’s kiss doesn’t really solve anything.

There will be times when you will be frustrated, unhappy, and disappointed.

There will be times that love is literally the worst thing in the world.

But don’t worry.

At the end of the day, one thing will always be true: love can conquer all, if you let it.
