What is it about society and culture today that allows fellow females to criticize and bash each other just to get a few laughs out of others? Is it to feel like the bigger person or to hide their own insecurities by transferring them onto those at the butt of their jokes?
Brooklyn. It’s the city that warrants snide remarks about getting shot, the infiltration of hipsters and the bustle of Brighton Beach. It’s also the city that I call home.
It’s a common feeling, one that creeps up on you every so often, so slight that you don’t pay attention until you realize that you’re 30, single and binge watching Netflix with Tate’s chocolate chip cookie crumbs stuck between your boobs.
