This Is For The Girls Who Love The Idea Of Love

By

We full-heartedly believe chivalry is not dead.

We believe in forever love, 60 year anniversaries, and forehead kisses.

We believe that Nicholas Sparks is the only man that truly “gets it” and that if you’re a bird, I’m a bird.

We believe in running through the airport to give her every reason to not get on the plane.

We believe in weak knees, butterflies, and sweaty palms.

We believe in Whitney Houston’s “I will always love you” and that Taylor Swift just hasn’t met her prince charming yet.

We believe in love at first sight, finding your person, and soulmates.

We believe in trust and loyalty, and that snooping is never an option.

We believe in date nights, cuddling, and making out in the backseat of the car.

We believe in dancing at the bar, singing out loud, and laughing until our stomachs hurt.

We believe in misshapen pancakes and burnt bacon, because we can’t keep our hands off each other in the kitchen.

We believe in him coming to the door with flowers in hand, telling her she’s the prettiest dang thing he’s ever laid eyes on.

We believe in wiping away her tears, holding her tightly when she’s upset, and telling her everything will be okay.

We believe in good night kisses and morning breath.

We also believe that love is not one-sided.

We believe in the five love languages and learning what our lover lusts for.

Although we believe he should be our number one fan, we also believe that we need to be his rock.

Although we believe in him showing up at our doorstep with Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and a chick flick, we also believe in returning the favor with a six pack of beer, football Sunday, and a large pizza.

Although we believe in getting surprise flowers, we also believe in giving a surprise lunch with a love note packed in with the sandwich.

Although we believe he should cook us a candlelight dinner, we believe we should bring him breakfast in bed.

Although we believe he should acknowledge our new hairdo, we believe we should acknowledge that his hard work at the gym is paying off.

Although we believe he should rub our feet, we believe that we should scratch his head until he falls asleep.

We don’t believe in PDA, but we believe in stolen kisses.

We don’t believe in “baby” or “bae,” but we believe in sweetheart and honey.

We don’t believe in agreeing with everything, but we believe in having each other’s backs.

We don’t believe in fighting with each other but fighting for each other.

We believe that anyone and everyone is capable of receiving this love and that anyone and everyone is capable of giving this love.

We believe that girls that love love aren’t pathetic, because we believe in the love we love.

Is love real? We believe it.
