Sometimes You Don’t Get An Apology

Sometimes you don’t get an apology,
All you get is ignored calls and unread texts.

You have to disregard the hypocrisy,
all the times he said, “Always and forever, baby.”

Maybe he forgot the promises made,
or maybe they were empty from the start,
Those days are long gone.

I tell my heart to accept it and move on,
one of these days I know it will listen.

And I’ll finally stop missing him.
