I said “hello there”
and you walked up to me and smiled again
you had almond shaped eyes
with laughter lines
hazel colored with specks of honey
eyelashes like ocean waves
it felt like you were pulling me in
just standing there smiling at me
we didn’t know each other
but at that moment
i could swear to God
you felt anything but a stranger
