For Her Past Loves Who Left

Thank you for leaving her. For not seeing her worth. For doubting her capabilities. For breaking her trust. For not loving her the way she’s supposed to be loved. For giving up on something that was more than worth it; love.

It wasn’t easy loving her. And at some point, I thought about giving up. But I didn’t. Nothing worth it in life comes easy and you never give up on someone you love. But you did and didn’t want to try. I didn’t fix her because she was never broken. I was just with her while she built herself back up after you left.

I was there for her when she needed me. Even when she didn’t want me to stay. She needed the assurance that someone will always be there for her. She needed me to believe in her even when she doubted herself. Because of you she forgot how to believe in love. But that didn’t stop me from loving her. Just because she stopped believing in love doesn’t mean that I did.

I love her.

You left scars but I made sure that when she looks at those scars, she would smile. She knows the past hurts but it won’t hurt her anymore. That she could believe in love again with no hesitation. That she found someone that she could count on. Someone that sees her value. That sees her for who she is. Treats her the way she deserves to be treated. Knows her ins and outs. Sees how bad things could get and stays.

I wish you never happened but you did and there’s nothing I could do about it. I wish I was with her before you. So you wouldn’t have had the chance to hurt her. I wasn’t part of her past but I can promise that I’m here now and I’m staying for her future.

Because my ideal future is with her.

You were a mistake. An experience. A lesson learned.

I hope you find happiness because I did. My happiness is the girl you left.

I hope you find someone that makes you feel the way I do for her. Maybe you’ll realize what went wrong and learn from it. If you don’t, I feel sorry for you because she probably was the best thing that could have ever happened to you and you let her go. You stopped loving her.

I won’t make the same mistakes you did. I’m calling her for keeps. I won’t let her go. I won’t stop loving her. I’ll always believe in her. I’ll take care of her. I’ll make sure to always make her feel loved. The trust you broke, I’ll earn it everyday. The little things you forget; I won’t because they aren’t little to me. Thank you again because if you didn’t lose her, I wouldn’t be with her. I wouldn’t have the love that you lost.
