Sometimes when flirting with someone, it can be hard to pick up the signs. People can be opaque about their intentions, and it is MORE than possible for someone to talk a little too much, or overstay their welcome. Social cues can be hard sometimes.

But other times it is should be pretty obvious when someone isn’t interested. Like this time.

Imgur user punchmepat explains that her roommate shared these text convos from Facebook chat. Apparently this dude — who the roommate had NEVER met — just started talking to her. Not only was he talking to her, he was talking about visiting her, and falling in love with her.

Nine messages so far, no response. Will he take the hint?

No. 16 messages later he is still going, demanding to know whether he can visit her at college.

Finally she responds, when he asks her to confirm that they do indeed know each other (they don’t).

“As a female, you should think it is cute whenever someone sends you 24 unsolicited messages.”

Um, no?

“Remember you fucked up, not me.”

Riiiiiigggghhhtttt

Except wait, he has a last minute change of heart:

Phew, I barely got to the end there.

There is nothing wrong with asking someone out, even someone you don’t know. But the most respectful way to do it is to ask politely once, and then back off if you don’t get a response or the answer is no.

Just…don’t do this.
