#LoveIsLove

By

Body like a hymn; I hear
the first note and fall to my knees in worship.
Mouth red with sin, red as sin, swollen
with suggestion and act; a touch
and I am known, colored in like a sunset.
There’s a lodestar in that
dirty voice, the sun in her laugh; my Lord
made me of this earth and I must obey the pull.
She tastes of gravity, burning like
a fever, like a star.
Her teeth shine with secrecy, my angel of small death
with a halo of hair the color of wine,
lady rising out of a champagne lake, and
I am drunk off her.
She calls and I answer. Love leaves me no choice.
There is no confinement sweeter than
this, no lovelier trap than my hand in
hers.
