Big achievements are always wonderful and consistently appreciated, but lately, it’s the little ones that make me feel utterly fulfilled. Perhaps the little successes walk a fine line between pathetic and pure, yet for right now, it’s the ‘minuscules’ that make each day better and better. Here are twenty of them, to remind you what you have to be happy about.

1. Finding five dollars.

2. Hitting all walk-signs in a row. (New Yorkers will especially appreciate this.)

3. Receiving a compliment completely out of the blue

4. Being 95% certain you left your charger at home and then finding it in your bag.

5. Any day that The Parent Trap is on TV.

6. Slowing down on the sidewalk when you see a really cute puppy and then it majestically run towards you and allows you to cuddle and the owner doesn’t have a problem with it

7. Opening a fresh tube of toothpaste.

8. Discovering Paul Rudd is in the movie you’re about to watch and you had no idea and now you’re ten times more into it.

9. Checking your bank account to find more than you remembered because you’re bad at math.

10. Starting a new series and loving it.

11. Giving a birthday present and the receiver’s reaction being way better than you thought.

12. Catching the milk the day before it expires.

13. Coming home from a night of drinking to an unanticipated bag of Doritos or Goldfish or just the perfect amount of cheese.

14. Forgetting you bought yourself an extra bottle of wine from the liquor store and then finding it.

15. Finding a new song you’ve listened to twenty times in one sitting and still not being tired of it.

16. Forgetting and then remembering that you already shaved your legs.

18. Finding some twenty second video absolutely hysterical and sharing it with five either people who find it just as hysterical.

19. Reminding yourself you’ve come farther than any point beyond yesterday.

20. Meeting a stranger who has the same dream as you, the same destination, the same hope.
