The first step for me to eradicate this feeling of overwhelm and often confusion as to what route to go about acquiring this new skill, is to break it down into ‘mini-skills’.
“Tell me something I don’t know.”
Willing to work for free to prove yourself is a great little distinction. But it’s worthless by itself.
“You take what’s safe and you add something new to it. You’re good enough to try something new. You learn the confidence to try something new. A good DJ is always taking a risk. Trying something new. Seeing what happens.”
