Perhaps the most exciting part of a relationship is the phase of uncontrollable smiling; a giddy intoxication akin to having a little too much alcohol gurgling in your veins. The part when you know you’re screwed because someone has your heart wrapped around their little finger, but secretly you wouldn’t have it any other way. The part when you hold their hand and sense the undeniable electricity of what is to come. The part when you throw your hands in the air, admitting utter defeat, but you’re smiling wider than you’ve ever done before because this is the beginning of something that you didn’t even know you’d been waiting for. The part when you know you’re ready to fall hard and fast for someone, if only to see where it’ll take you.

To reference a favorite quote of mine: “Maybe it won’t work out. But maybe seeing if it does will be the best adventure ever.”

You can never really be ready to fall, because the word “falling” implies an accident; a lack of control, an uncertainty, a powerlessness in the face of inevitability. But I am catastrophically attracted to you and am long past the point of convincing myself otherwise.
