You Need To Open Your Heart! Here’s 5 Reasons To Start.

By

We all have been through times when we close our heart for different motives. Sometimes we want to be alone and just forget about the rest of the world, and that’s not bad at all, but when we start closing ourselves up and not letting people come into our lives, then something’s not right.

1. Give Yourself A Chance To Be Happy

Why are we so closed to others? We should all make ourselves at least once in our lives. Maybe someone hurt you; your girlfriend, best friend, the guy you were deep in love or one of your family members. I know it’s hard, but time has helped you heal those wounds and now it’s time for you to open yourself to others once more. I can’t assure you it will be easy, but I can promise you that it will be worth it. When you open your heart, you’re giving yourself a chance to be happy and make others happy. Enjoy a conversation with a new friend, have a cup of coffee with your crush or just spend some quality time with your family. Little by little you’ll see how your life starts to get brighter and how things start getting better.

2. Find A New Friend

I know you already got a group of friends in which you rely on, but why not meeting new people who might become your new friends. I mean, you don’t have to dump your old friends for new ones. You just meet new people and expand your circle. I’m not saying you’ll trust those people in the same way you trust your group of friends, but who knows, maybe you find your new best friend.

3. Fall In Love

I’m the first one to admit that after someone breaks your heart it’s really difficult to pick up the pieces and put them together. You start trusting no one except you and start being afraid to fall in love once again.

It’s okay if you take some time to heal, in fact that’s the normal thing to do. Take your time and then open your heart to someone. Give yourself the chance to love someone else again. Fall in love and experience that feeling once more. Love is a feeling so hard to describe, but so beautiful that when we’re living it we feel complete. Let someone else heal the wounds of your heart while he or she makes you happy. Again, who knows, maybe you find your future wife or husband.

4. Give Yourself To Others

You just can’t imagine how happy you can make someone by doing something nice for them. I’m sure that if you text a simple “good morning” to one of your friends you’ll totally make her day. Or something as simple as saying “may I help you?” to someone who’s going through a tough situation will make that person feel better. Be that light in someone else’s life. Simple acts of charity will make you a better person and a happier one too. Bright someone else’s day by smiling to him, or by giving a hug to the girl who’s crying because something bad happened to her. The simplest acts are the ones which human beings remember the most. Those tiny acts of charity, acts of love that you make, will help someone else in a way you won’t imagine.

5. And Last But Not Least, Don’t Be Afraid!

Fear is your biggest enemy here. Fear of failure, to being dumped, to let someone break your heart and not even care about it. I know it isn’t easy, but you gotta take risks. Take the risk of falling in love again, of making new friends, on trusting someone else besides your best friend. In this life we gotta take risks and that means getting hurt in the way. We can’t evade pain forever, but we can learn from it and become a better person. You’ve created walls to let people out, now it’s the time to face your fears and bring the walls down. If I learned something from The Dark Knight Trilogy was that quote from Thomas Wayne to Bruce: “And why do we fall, Bruce? So we can learn to pick ourselves up.” You fell and created barriers in your heart, now get up and tear them apart to give yourself a chance to live again.
